Michael Moore also claimed to stand up for freedom of speach. I still remember Michael Moore telling a reporter after an awards show that the conservatives heckling him for his liberal bull should not be allowed to be heard. Now Barbara the Nose screams for a spectator to "shut the %$#@ up" at a public concert held on public land,Why? Because she was doing political skits that were unintelligent and boring instead of singing. My question is this. Do Liberals only like the idea of freedom of speach as long as it always agrees with their ideas?

Hmm, this question could have been phrased in a less partisan way, but I agree with the premise.

I think the only way to unite the nation is for the moderate libs and the moderate conservatives get together and vote the pricks on the far fringes out of office, and anyone who accepts gifts, bribes, or other nonsense from lobbyists.

And celebrities should adhere to the guideline of keeping their politics a secret, so their fans might still like them even if they disagree.

If they want to enter politics, then by all means do so. Until then, shut up and sing. Don't do both, because singing and politics is like yodeling and sex.

The whole country is profane. "Pi**ed off" and "get your sh*t" are supposed to be acceptable English. There are schoolkids who can't get through a sentence without the F word. Now the word is used again, big deal. Go to almost any school in America, you'll hear a lot more of it. Stupidity is the only king here.

I'm not a Babs fan, but it's nice to know that the Rampaging Right can't outshout everyone on the block.

Celebs have more money and publicity. They don't have political credibility, but why should they have to abide by a special ethic to shut up about politics, just because they're famous?

It's not just democrats, here on Yahoo answers there are people that describe themselves as republicans, catholics, muslims, jews etc. in fact all sorts of people who are actually intollerant bigots.

True freedom of speech means I can say what ever I want AND you can say whatever you want. we can disagree and be grown up enough to agree to disagree. In a country with true freedom of speech, I could say the following sentence: "I think that Osama Bin Laden is a hero and he should be victorious in his struggle with the heathen godless westerners". (I do not believe or support or endorse this view at all), and not face prison for it! However that quoted sentence is actually illegal in the UK. I qualify it with my actual thoughts and beliefs that Bin Laden is an evil terrorist who is probably dead already, and if not I would delight in discovering that he had been killed. Terrorism is wrong, evil and a tool that should never be used by any group, religious or government funded.

But what the above paragraph proves is that we do not have freedom of speech in the UK.

With the right of the freedom of speech comes the responsibility of tollerance of views you may not disagree with, or be deeply offended by.

And Sean Hannity at his so-called freedom concert had some 'liberal infiltrators' removed. So much for freedom. And Bill O'Rielly threatened Jeremy Glick, the son of a man who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11, because he dared to speak out against the war. So much for freedom. And Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter make public knowledge the names of those with whom they disagree, and some of those people get harassed because contact information is also made public. So much for freedom.

Want me to go on?

The Left is nothing but hypocrites. They have absolutely NO credibility whatsoever.

Liberals, who oppose the death penalty for murderous scumbags like "Tookie" Williams, have sentenced over 40 million innocent unborn babies to the same fate

I have also seen this phenomenon. They want everyone to respect them and their beliefs, meanwhile they can insult other beliefs. But then someone who believes differently stands against them and it's "he shouldn't be able to say that!" or "he has no right to say anything of that kind!". Yeah, I noticed liberals are like that, they can insult every belief, institution, moral, or value you have, but God forbid you insult theirs. Stupid neo-hippies.

Sorry about that, I sort of went off on a tangent, but yes, they only like free speech when it totally and fully agrees with them.

She's an awful windbag, isn't she? And so typical of her to make people listen to her crap, yet when her audience speaks out, they're ordered to 'shut the f*ck up'. She's lorded on and on about how much she hates herself for being so fug and how she has so many insecurities about her looks ad nauseum...and to that I say, "eh, shet ep, Babs, and just sing, dammit!"

I say EVERYONE should practice freedom of speech. Not only minorities, or ILLEGALS. Most people are afraid to say what they think but I say go for it, it's our country we shouldn't be afraid to stand up for it.

A concert is for music and no place for hecklers, Barbara can say what she wants and reply anyway she wants. Last time, I heard tell she is an American and pays a hell of a lot more taxex than you and I do together.
