My husband doesn't seem to like my mom. He's always really short with her whenever we go to see her or she comes over. He's a good guy but he just seems to be iritated by her. Should I ask him about it or just let it go? I'
m afraid it's going to end up hurting her feelings..

Ask him what the problem is. Whether it is valid or not, ask him as his WIFE if he could please respect her. It doesn't mean he has to greet her with a kiss, or take her to run errands, or fix her leaky faucet.......it just means give her respect as being your mom, and the woman who gave birth to you that you love.

Express to him how important this is to you, and that in doing it....it isn't for HER benefit......but for YOUR benefit. He should be able to understand it from that perspective. And if he loves and cares for you......this will be his good deed for you.

How long have you been married? That is pretty much the normal way it works. Now, for your sake, he should learn to smile through it and make nice for you. I have been married seven years, I love my wife, I still dread every Holiday get together or Sunday dinner that I have to attend at her parents. I go though because it means a lot to my wife and on the flip side I know my family drives her nuts... you can choose your spouse, the family comes with them whether you want them too or not. This is a dance and one that your husband need to learn the steps too.

I agree w/ everyone's comment. I would bring it up to him and hear him out. Maybe there was a misunderstanging between your hubby and mother. Be open up to him and let him share his thought. You hubby may not like your mother but one thing he must do is at least respect her afterall, she is your mother. just curious was your hubby close to his mother? Sometime this could be part of the reason as well...good luck

yeah ask him or you'll never know why he dislikes her . could be that she's in your business all the time. or that she has been rude or put him down about soemthing. normally people just dont' like someone for the heck of it. something must have happened.

absoultely ask him...You are most likely right! Sometimes its hard for a man to tell his wife that her mom bugs him! AND when he tells you what it is she is doing...YOU WILL AGREE that is irritating...you are just used to it!!! You dont have to tell her what he says...but at least you will understand him better!

has your mom done something to him to offend him. i would definately talk to her about it and i would talk to him and find out why he doesn't like her as well. you don't want to have a major blow out between them so find out what the problem is and resolve it
