Many words in English are donated by Arabic through the most glorious period in Spain. These inlcude Cover (From Kafar), Earth (From Ard), Honey, Mirror (From Mirra), Mary, Sugar (Sakr) Alcohol (Alkahal), Ether (Isher), Algebra, Admiral (Ameer ul Bahar), etc. etc. Can some give me the detailed list of these Arabic driven words. Thank

Just a note:
"cover" comes from Latin, "cooperīre"
"earth" comes from Old English, "eorthe"
"honey" comes from Old Norse, "hunang"
"mirror" comes from Old French, "mireour"
"Mary" comes from Hebrew, "Miryām"
"ether" comes from Greek, "aithér"
"sugar", "alcohol", "algebra" and "admiral" do come from Arabic

For your information the English language has adopted words from almost every other language in the world. German, French ,Latin, you name it. It is a growing and healthy language. What do you what a Medal.

I in basic terms googled it, and located here, between others (w/link Cornea - between the key factors contained in the attention. Arabic: al-qarniya (qarn = "horn") "Alphabet" comes from the semitic letters alif (first letter) + ba = beit. Beit develop into the 2d pictographic letter contained in the Phoenician. * Alhambra: "the crimson one" * Taj Mahal: "crown place" * Canal = Arabic qanawat * Chemise (French) = qamees (Arabic) * Naphtha, naphthalene = naft (suggested contained in the Qur'an, which potential oil for burning)
