I am asking this because many use the "eye for an eye" philosophy when deciding things like this and because that person doesn't take a life is it right for his/her life to be taken?

Death would be too easy they should be put somewhere and the victims families should be allowed to torture them painfully and slowly.

No one deserves to get the death penalty.Sex offenders should rot away in prison for the rest of their life.You have to also consider the fact that statistics say 1 out of 10 people on death row are innocent.

The sex offender didn't murder anyone, so its not "eye for an eye." So I don't agree with the death penalty in that case.

It depends on what you mean by sex offender. You are listed as one of those if you streak through your neighborhood and get caught. Peeping Toms are considered sex offenders.
Child molesters and rapists who can be proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt deserve death.
