I find any type of "revealing" clothing offensive & inappropriate.

I know women like to appeal to men & be attractive, to turn them on. What these type of women don't realize that more often than not, more clothing is sexier. This also applies to animation in my opinion.

Speaking as a male - I think Witchblade should wear some clothes under that thing, and yes, females in comics are usually removed from realistic images.

Consider the Jim Lee female with the trademark 90degree bend in her spine, thrusting her breasts out.

Consider Catwoman in the 90s, with the artist being officially told "Cut them down, they look ridiculous."

Consider also that spandex (leather, cotton, whatever they are wearing) doesn't cling to every nook and cranny of your body. Look at a woman in a tight fitting T-shirt (men - stop drooling) and notice you can't see the exact shape of her breasts (men - stop imagining) but there are parts of the T-shirt not touching her skin. You should draw your female charaters like that.

Also bear in mind the costume should reflect the character. Huntress in Batman is supposed to be a Catholic - so why does she run around with an exposed midriff? It doesn't fit, but the earlier costume with no exposed parts did. Look at the changing costume of Wonder Girl (the first one) - simple leotard for the young girl, covered leggings and open neck for the "liberated" late-teen, and more demure clothing as she became more mature and started calling herself Troia. The costume fit the character, not just her body.

And just while we are on the topic - did any one have a problem with Supergirl wearing a skirt and flying above peoples' heads? I mean "Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! Ooooh - I can see her panties!" That is just SO wrong.

I do not have a problem that guys draw these women like this. They are trying to connect to male readers so obviously they would make all of their women very attractive and very unreal looking. I was reading a comic recently with the art of Michael Turner and all this women he creates all look alike. As I said, I have no problem with it, I think they are pretty too and I understand why they have hardly any clothes on.

You also get the women characters who aren't dipicted like that and that is always good too.

I also like when writers will write a certain character talking about the whorish outfit that the other characters have on. Example: Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde in Astonishing X-Men. Kitty makes fun of Emma's lack of clothing. It is classic.

I think "revealing" female superheroes like Witchblade and Wonder Woman are beautiful, sexy, intelligent, and strong. They also know how to defend themselves as well as women's rights, so they can show both a sexy side and a strong side all at the same time.

Personally I wish someone would draw me that way and then I'd dress that way as well. Seriously I think that these comic women are completely unrealistic body types but they certainly appeal to the intended audience so what's wrong with that. I think even the most delusional comic fan will give up and look for a normal girl after a little while of trying to score one like in the comics.

Once again, this isn't an answer, I was just checkingout the ladies' answers. However, I wanted to put in my two cents: I always thought that the dressed that way DELIBERATELY, so that guys would be to busy staring a their bodies to try to get a look at their face and guess their secret identity!

I don't really consider Wonder Woman inappropriate. Compare her to 'cheesecake' heroines, such as FemForce (look them up!) and you will see that she is truly clothed in dignity and poise.

I think that Wonder Woman (along with other female comic people) were created for horny "comic book nerds". Some people think that they were made so there would be male and female superheroes, but i think that they should've made the costumes a little less...whorish...

Witchblade and Wonderwoman are more for the tastes of men than women!

I believe it is more about empowerment than sexism. A beautiful, strong, and shapely woman should be proud to show off. It definitely keeps the bad guy off his game-"Hot chick=stiff_____", I mean seriously could any guy stop Wonder Woman from tying him up and why would he want to???

I personally have no problem with it. But as a teenager I would have seen it as this is how women should look like. Could cause problems with younger girls. Just like Hollywood.
