I was 14 when I got my first job. I worked for the the city doing basic landscaping for local charities like homeless shelters and crisis pregnancy centers. When the summer ended, I worked at McDonald's for a while, before getting annoyed with the terrible work environment. Then I worked for 3 years in the kitchen of a bar/bowling alley. I also did lots of babysitting on the side which sometimes pays even better than a part time job. If I were you, I'd try to get a job in the kitchen of a restaurant with a bar. When you're old enough, transfer to a bar-tending position. Bartenders make a ton of money in tips!

As an assistant in a video shop, grocery shop, newsagents, supermarket etc, I have done these jobs between the age of 16-22 part time, the pay wasn't that good. It will be better to spend your younger years studying and make it all the way to University, you wont regret it on the day you graduate with a degree and get yourself a high paid job.

All jobs for a 16 yr old is relative. Perhaps working at a grocery store or the movies. Its going to be pretty much some type of customer service retail store job. So you really just want to work some where the people are nice and the environment is good to deal with.

You could be a waiter/waitress. Tough getting a high paying job when you're unskilled. There's all the traditional stuff. How about trying to sell on eBay. You can buy stuff wholesale and then resell it. If you live near (or in) a big city like NY you can get a tax ID and then buy from the wholesale centers like for costume jewelry or handbags, etc. Get a flea market stall and do the same.

It depends. But from my own experience, any job where you need to deal with the public is a good one. Service related business like retail and food service are good jobs because they do not require a lot of skill and they offer a lot of interaction with people.
Working with people in a service business provides great people skill experience. It allows a young person to develop their communication and interactive strengths.

Internet Marketing. Set up a website and add Google Adsense ads. If you do it correctly, you will make some decent cash.
