I have used both Teamspeak and Ventrilo.

I actually prefer Teamspeak, but Ventrilo works well, too.

The only problem we have had is that the Vent servers go down a lot. I believe they also changed it recently. You used to be able to have a lot of people on a free server, but now I believe that's limited to 5 or 6 individuals. I don't know about the cost if you plan to include more people, so you'd have to look into that.

Have you tried yahoo! messenger with voice? I dont know much about them but, it seems like it is pretty good.

Skype has the best voice feature and supports video/webcam, conferencing, file transfer, and chat. It's excellent, and free.

I don't work for Skype, and have tested skype client along with several other popular ones and found it to be the best at least for me.
