This would depend where you live.
You can rent a boat to go fishing on Lake Michigan.
You can rent a yacht by looking in the yellow pages or going to www.qwestdex.com & looking up marina's and finding out if they rent out boats,yachts,canoes etc.
If you live by a lake you could always go to the marina & ask if they rent out boats, yachts etc.

There are many means for renting a boat.But I have to know at which state or exact place you are intended to go for an outing.

Do a search on the internet for charter companies in your area. You will have to consider if you want bareboat, which is just you and your guests, or skippered...
