I have had cortisone shot in buttocks. It burns like heck, so does pennecillin and the sight stays sore for several days. With cortisone you're supposed to put ice on the site to make the medecine disperse and last longer and ti makes the injection site feel better too. Don't know if this helped.

i used to get my depo shot in the buttocks. nurse said to stand on left foot and lean over the exam table. she then injected into right buttock and that was it. it was all over with little or no pain. standing on the opposite leg helped relax the muscle the injection went into.

It's not to bad. I've had 2 kids so i had lots of shots. It feels like when you get your finger poked only in the butt. No pain really. you only feel it for a second. Then it gone. You may feel sore in that spot later (like having a small bruise) but it's no biggie. It goes away in a day. Hope this helps.

I heard people like to bite on something while they're being injected.
