This is slightly off topic, but did you know the story of the"Miss Los Angeles" that was built for one of the Atlantic - Richfield execs in the roaring twenties. He had the same cost no object attitude; ordered up a boatful of ex-military Liberty engines, eight V-12s, ninety-six cylinders, forty-eight carburettors, etc. etcetera. It was trucked to the Hydro races on the Detroit river : when the throttles opened up the torque rolled the boat over, instant capsize.
