I heard Bill O'Reilly say today that drug use in America has fallen. How can anyone know this? I mean, I've never heard of or seen a survey done across the nation asking people what drugs they do. The very social stigma of drug use makes people keep their habits secretive. It seems to me, anyone who says drug use is up or down or anything of the sort is obviously lying because its impossible to know the numbers. Even the national food and drug administraion, ATF, CIA, FBI, anyone! They don't and can't know! So why do people listen to these people and believe them? "Marijuana use among teens is down %10 from three years ago" WTF? How could anyone possibly know that?

I am 38 years old and I do not think that younger people use drugs quite the way they did when I was younger. I am sure there are people still using illicit drugs but the fact that there is a social stigma against it now keeps the numbers down. When you use drugs you typically associate with others that do so you probably think the numbers are higher.
I have smoked pot in the long past and I have used steroids and HGH more recently, most of my friends do but I do not think the world does.

That is a good point. I know a lot of people do drugs but they don't necessarily go around saying "Oh yeah, I do drugs." No one could ever really know.
I personally would never do drugs. All they do is hurt you. I've seen so many people get messed up by drug use. Its just not worth it for the temporary high. For everyone reading this: Drugs are harmful and if you or anyone you know is doing them you need to stop or get help. Its not worth ruining you life for.

Exactly! when it is bought on the street without anyone keeping count there is no possible way to know!
BTW the only drug I take is an occasional aspirin when I have a head ache and I take vitamins every day!

there are many surveys among teens actually
At my highschool, we take a two day survey in gym class regarding our behaviors. many of the questions pertain to drugs. of course, not everybody is truthfull, but they account for lying in the results. My school has about 15% druggies, which is true from what i have seen.

I sat on a jury recently that put a cocaine dealer away for several years.
Back in the day, I smoked pot - and I can tell you that it IS addicting. Period. I'm just thankful I didn't do anything more damaging!
As far as drug use going up or down? I supposed they take polls. That's all.
