The question arises--
Was the thermostat installed correctly?
Is the thermostat defective?
Is the car really running HOT or is the dash gauge out of spec?
As long as the fans are running, check that the radiator hasn't collected some debris (such as a piece of old gasket) and that the radiator is full. and that there is no air-lock.
Good Luck

electric radiator cooling fan isn't turning on. may be rather some attainable problems. a million) undesirable motor. 2) undesirable relay. 3) undesirable thermal change. 4) undesirable connection. 5) Blown fuse. it is somewhat helpful to to seek for a expert's help troubleshooting this one. extra: the electrical powered fan does not generaly come on untill the engine coolant temperature reaches 205 deg. F. (or there abouts) So working a sprint warm is widely used. in spite of the undeniable fact that, if it almost reaches warm and the electrical powered fan does not turn on, i could have it regarded at.

Have the cooling system flushed out using an off the shelf Rad and Cooling System cleaner. You can do it yourself but its a bit messy, take it to your mechanic and have him do it. If that's you in the photo the only other solution is its probably all that hot air being produced from all the guys sitting around you at a light stop??

Dear Amy, There is a sensor on your radiator keeps the water in your engine at the right temperature. The sensor must be fault and needs replacing. This sensor is a switch for the eletric fan to work and cool the engine down. when you are in a traffic jam or parked up. Or you could have a cylinder head problem with a blockage in the port hole that cool it down.

If the problem started when the new thermostat was put in, they may have put it in wrong. It is odd that it would start acting up after you had it worked on. I would bring it back and have them look at it again.

The new thermostat is most likely faulty.... take it out of the car and put it in a pot of boiling water on the stove to see if it opens when hot.

ur waterpump is possibly starting to crap out on you....see if it cools down while sitting still when u rev the engine up to 2 or 3 thousand RPM and hold it...if the thermostat was installed wrong then its upside-down and that would be a bigger deal than what u are decribing

I've looked at the previous answers, and they are good ones. Is your air-conditioning working well? If not, the heat transfer element may be freezing up, and blocking your radiator.
Have that checked. I live in the South, and I've seen it many times. You may be low on freon, or your radiator is blocked.
