I have seen it as young as 10 or 11 and as old as 18 if you have not had your period by 18 you need to go see an ob/gyn!!

I started my period at 8, but nowadays lots of doctors will put a girl that young on medication to postpone those periods. Hormones, I guess. Wish that had been around when I was that age. That is a really big responsibility for a kid that young.

I started my period when I was 8 years old, my sister started hers at 15. According to our doctor this is very normal and the average range is 9-15. She actually suggested that if you haven't started by 16, you should check with your doctor.

well I got mine at 12 but my best friend didn't get hers til 18. Just depends on the girl. It is also said that playing lots of sports or not could have something to do with it too.
