I have had a wierd cold for 12 weeks...it comes and goes. Is this just a pesky summer cold or more serious?

I would advise going to the doctors. I thought mine was a pesky cold and have been fighting it off and on for the last 6 weeks. I went to see the Dr last week and was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. He put me on 2 meds, 1 for bacterial infection and the other for the cough. It has not gotten better at all and have a call in to see him again. Get it checked out, could be more serious. Hope you feel better soon.

What it sounds like to me is probably allergies. A cold doesn't last that long. Try some over-the-counter allergy medication and see if it doesn't help. I don't believe it is serious. I hope this helps.

You need to remember to change your toothbrush during and after a cold. A toothbrush is one of the things that most people forget all about. Lipstick, chapstick and eye makeup are others.

Here is the deal. When Someone gets sick, depending on the severity of the sickness your immune system works its hardest to fight against any bacteria, viruses, etc. with the combination of allergies and germs your body is vulnerable to any bugs that can get you sick on top of your current sickness. It's to much for your immune system to Handel, that why it's important to rest to allow your body to recuperate before you expose yourself to other people who might get you sick. But look at the bright side when you get better you'll be immune to any sickness!!

Thats a little long to have acold. Maybe its allergies or your air conditioning. Try a humidifier or something that will put moisture in the air. Air conditioning dries my sinuses out bad!!
