Well what exactly is your definition of pessimism?
Wikipedia's definition is: a belief that the experienced world is the worst possible. It describes a general belief that things are bad, and tend to become worse; or that looks to the eventual triumph of evil over good; it contrasts with optimism, the contrary belief in the goodness and betterment of things generally.
Are you REALLY like that or do you just have a negative outlook on life. Both aren't good. If you are always negative than you never give anyone a chance, you immediatly think the worst from them.
I don't know if you are old enough to be in a relationships, but that kind of lifestyle will hurt your relationships. I suggest a little therapy to see why you are so negative. It never hurts to learn more about yourself, through the eyes of another.

I think pessimism has it's place, but if you live your life being pessimistic on constant basis, you're gonna miss out on a lot more than the people who will eventually avoid you because you're bringing them down.
Try to find something good (just one thing) to put a little optimism in your life and see how your outlook changes!

Honey, I can totally identify with you. I like to think of myself as a realist who tries to look at situations from every angle but prepare for the worst. It works for me most of the time. My husband is the eternal optimist and helps balance me out when I get overwhelmed in negative thoughts. Any trait taken to an extreme can be harmful. The key to life is to learn to be balanced in your thinking. Think about this: Expect the best but be prepared for the worst, does that make sense to you? It helps me a lot.

I sit on the fence on this one. I think that sometimes I am a pessimist but then when I listen to my father talk I feel like the Queen of Optimists. Believe me when you are constantly negative it makes people not even want to listen to you.

I hate pessimist and absolutely refuse to date them or be friends with them. Life is drab enough without ppl like you bringing everyone down.
Life is too short not to enjoy each day and live it to the fullest.
Be happy woman!!

For an optimist you are a downer.
For a cynic like myself, you are a shining beacon of hope. And I do appreciate you being there, optimists make me sick.
