I have been going out with someone for only a week or so, but I can tell that it ain't going NOWHERE. She is a nice enough gal, but seriously, she couldn't get any duller. We have nothing to talk about between us, it feels awkward, and her looks aren't exactly flattering. But I want to be nice about breaking up with her, because I know that this relationship means a lot to her. Thanks everyone!

There is no NICE way. Everyone takes a breakup as a personal failure. The BEST way is to be honest and do it as soon as you feel it. You dont have to tell her that it's her "unflattering" looks, but do tell her that you dont see a future. If you know that already after only a week or so it must be true. That way you arent leading her on any longer and she has less time to possibly fall in love with you. You might be surprised that she may feel the same way. Good luck

Tell her that at this time you are too confused and immature to have a relationship with a girl and that you're sorry to have wasted her time. (Whether this is true or not, it will be easier on her because it puts the blame on you, not her.) Tell her that you will always be happy to be her friend. Don't blab about this conversation with your male friends.

Be honest....but use nicer words than you are dull...how about something along the lines of not having much in common. It's only been a week she can't be too attached already.
