Your question is a bit vague on why he is like that or if it is all of the time. But you can't "make " him do anything. The best thing to do is have a heart to heart talk with him and find out what is causing him to be moody or lonely. Maybe he really needs you to listen to what he feels he has problems with and for you to really understand and empathize with him. If you think the feelings he has are really deep perhaps you could convince him to seek therapy and then maybe together you might be able to have a happy household again. Good luck to you!

Expose him more to socializing activities until he gets comfortable with it and develops self-confidence in dealing with people in all walks of life.
But don't force him to go in it if he really hates crowded, noisy places like me. Some people are comfortable spending moments only with the family.

I the man has always been what he is like now, Then you have absolutely no right, need, or reason to make him different. When you buy an apple pie, wishing it was a devil food chocolate cake, will not make it so

Lots of great helpers: Xanax, Zoloft, Celexa. He has to acknowledge that theres a problem AND want to address it.

it could be depression issue if he wasnt always like that..if hes just a shy guy even before you had kids then its his personalty and you should let him do what feels right and not push. just always let him kno hes loved and make him apart of the group. :)
