i was wondering because i am going to race on sunday and some of my friends think ill win some dont i was just wondering both vehicles are completly stock well i no mine is

In a race to the gas pumps for these guzzlers, I have to go with the ex- plorer.

depends what kind of race you are doing. if it's just a straight drag, then the sable should beat it of the line, but the explorer with smoke it on the top speed part. it should be able to catch up. so the explorer should win. i dont know, maybe im wrong sorry. good luck

Sable should win! Just be sure your CV joints are good. I not sure of your distance. But, the Explorer should lead out of the hole, do not worry. By Second Gear you should gain and possibly pass the Explorer. Third you be ahead. Shift manually and do not go to the next gear until engine has very high RPM, we call it screaming, but, if you not know the sound Shift 1st to 30 mph, 2nd to 50 and then third. That should work. Do not go into Over Drive.

It depends on the distance. Who cares? Ford/Mercury???? After the race, I hope neither is running with black smoke.
Maybe u should try pulling a long trailer weighted down, and see which one can handle it the best-one at a time---it is a lot safer test!

I think the sable should win, because the exploder is probably racing on firestone tires, which will seperate and flip the top heavy SUV.

EEWWW! Close one...160 BHP for the Ford; 140 for the Mercury. Explorer heavier. so, equal match. I wouldn't bet aginst the Ford, because the weight difference is not that much. Unless you know yours in maintained better thatn his, I'd not bet the pink slip...

The Car should beat the SUV....... also depends on the driver.....
