i think you have to own 3 of the same restaurant for it to become a franchise.

Do you mean to purchase a franchise or do you have an existing business you wish to sell franchises of?
There was a franchise fair in Sacramento last weekend. I would look for one in your area, if one is not planned in a convenient radius of where you live, go ahead and look them up online. I think you have to wait until you are a hell of a big company before you can branch out into franchise sales but now would be the time to plan for it.
