I have a injury to my neck which causes my brain to not reserve the right singals. So I fall a lot and get hurt even more. I been walking with a cane for a while now but it seems I may end up in a wheel chair soon. What are somethings I should get ready for??

One thing I've heard is that many people get a crick in their neck from suddenly having to look up at everyone. Ask your doctor about neck exercises to prep for that. You may also want to look into a good cushion for the chair. If you have a bony backside, get a cushion! Try the Dr Leonard catalog (online or paper sent to you) for other simple assistance items. Sorry I don't know their address, but you can easily get it by using Google.

Make sure your home is wheel-chair accessible. You'll want ramps to the outside doors. You can also have the counters and cabinets in your home height-adjusted to suit a wheelchair-bound person, and the tub changed to a large easy-entry shower. So sorry to hear about your injury! I hope things work out OK for you.

If you are going to be in a wheelchair most of the time around your home, I suppose you should start by preparing your home.
