Check this website www.immigrationvoice.org. It takes 6-8 yrs to get a green card for a person on a visa. He/She cannot change employers, cannot get promoted etc etc.. So His/Her employer can take advantage of him. Driver's license issues what not.. People are talking about approx more than 12 million illegals. How about 500K of people who have been paying taxes, contributing to FICA & Medicare for 4 to 5 years now? Most of them paid out of state tuition to get higher education. What say? I wanna know how much percentage of general public is aware of this.

What I am wondering is why doesnt the lawmakers & media care for people who are here legally and tie the whole issue to Illegal vehicle? Most of the public is totally unaware and looks at both the groups as same. I guess its the vote bank for most lawmakers and what sells for media.

Most importantly I wanna know, how many people know that it takes 6-8 yrs to become a permanent resident legally and the hassles involved during that period? Just a poll

I really do not understand what you are getting at. What I am reading is that you think that just because there are laws that the problem is solved.

This is not true. Illegal immigrants do not care about laws. They are ILLEGAL that should be a clue that they do not respect our countries laws! They work under the table, don't pay taxes, take state and federal aid money, drain our schools .... I could go on but it would be redundant because it is everywhere and everyone knows it.

Amnesty will not work!!! Read your history books!!

All those who have dealt with the US immigration know that it takes less time to go to Mars and come back than to get a non-priority green card. The US congress must be moved to do something about this. Its probably cheaper to make the immigration system more responsive to the country's needs than to erect a hundreds of mile long fence and zillion motion detectors.

There are actually people out there that wanna let this Illegal Scum Simply JUMP right over all those of you who have Waited and did everything the RIGHT way to become US citizens. I think it's Complete BS NO Amnesty for Illegals No Line Jumping Unless that line happens to be the Border and there jumping back over it into Mexico.
