i just got the v12 5 channel 425 watt one used and a friend told me its a kick *** amp. anyone else know any better? is the wattage way under rated? i dont think any amp will beat the underrated U.S. amps

Alpine amps are clean amps. They are not a bass heavy amp. They are a good buy for the money. I have not played with any of US amps new stuff but the last amp of theirs I had installed was very hard hitting and very well made. Over the years I have really seen the difference between American made amps and Amps coming from Asia. We truly do make the best Amps. period, but due to economical purposes most stuff comes from over seas.

I have the 600W V-Power model, i love it. I think they are very under rated, my friend has the same one as you. I will never go back to anything else, mine says it can put out 600W but i really think it puts out more. Enjoy it!
