I've had that. It was just a broken blood vessel and went away after a couple of weeks. If it's still there after a month, I'd go to a doctor because it's still bleeding.

Red spot just localised with no pain or change in vision may be a small spot of inflammation, a subconjunctival haemorrhage.

If there is a discomfort or pain it may be an inflammation of the sclera, the white and called episcleritis may not need treatment in most cases as it is self limiting,

If the spot is very painful with decrease in vision it may be an inflammation of the white of the eye of serious nature which needs more rigorous treatment.

Sometimes , a flesh mass close to cornea called pingueculum gets inflammed from time to time, this also requires treatment occasionally.

So, if your vision is affected you should see the eye doctor immediately, if not affected probably it is not a serious problem, however see the eye doctor

Hey Dan, if it was just pinkeye it would have gone away by now. Pinkeye is just a virus that has spread to your eye. You may somehow have scratched your eye, in which case a doctor should get a look at it. Hope it gets better soon.

There's a ton of things that can cause redness on your eye. you really need to go see an eye Dr about it because ANY inflamation can lead you to infections and any infection can cause you to lose sight if not the entire eyeball itself. So again GO SEE A DR!

That is bleeding my friend. I had the same problem two months ago. All of a sudden for no apparent reason I had blood in my eye and looked nasty. It went away by itself.
