I had the procedure several years back... they gave me two Valiums to "relax" me and I was feeling pretty good until the nurse came in to shave me. Whatever I was feeling quickly went away when I felt an unfamiliar set of hands and one of those hands had a razor.
Next the doctor comes in to "numb" the area and he doesn't use ice... I received 3 local shots (the kind with the needle) and I only felt 2 of them. Afterwards, he went to work and I asked him to take out an extra inch because I definitely did not want to go through this procedure again!
When he finished and stitched me up; it was hard to walk at first with everything still numbed up. Once the numbing went away and the pain began to set in... it was just a matter of wearing a jock strap (to keep everything still), keeping an ice pack handy (to keep "any" swelling down) and some prescribed medication very close.
Your biggest concern will involve having to go to the bathroom to urinate... just go nice and easy, and don't wait until your bladder is about to burst! You're tempted to hold off as long as possible but you want to do the opposite...
3 days later I was out cutting grass without any pain, but I was always wary to not make any sudden movements. There was still a little discomfort but not enough to need any pain medication.
Once I went back to get the stitches out and was given the thumbs up... I tested the "plumbing" that night and I didn't notice any difference. I had to go back and provide a sample in order to determine if the procedure was successful and that was the most uncomfortable portion of the entire event.
Once you go in for the consultation, be sure to meet your surgeon and check out their hands for any "shakiness" and for any sneezing allergies... you want someone else if they have either.

I definitely agree with you on everything you said and it does make me feel disappointed because people in this generation are not like the people from the old times. I feel like things have gotten bad and kids have completely changed. It bothers me because I'm from this generation but when I was 11, 12, and 13 I was playing with my toys including barbie dolls and yes I had male friends but never went any further than just friends. Now at 22 I'm still a virgin and waiting for the right guy to come along and put a ring on my finger and I'm glad that I waited and never regretted it. So I'm not like the kids you described as being slutty. Things have changed and it is going to keep on getting worse than what it has ever been. Sad but the truth in our generation.

My husband I talked a while before we decided that this form of contraception was the best method (in office procedure compared to hospital stay for me). He was white when he came out of the office, and he stated that it was the worst pain he had ever had. Sorry for being so blunt.... I took him home (did not pass go, did not collect $200 dollars (for you Monopoly fans)). Gave him an ice pack and went and got his pain meds. This lasted about three days, with the pain decreasing each day.
He is fine now (this has been a while ago). We do not have to worry about a little surprise, and we have all the fun we want... That is the best part...... :)

Hope you have a DR with soft hands. Wear a jockstrap the first week after. There will be bruising at the top of your scrotum which when standing means that gravity will pull on that area and be a little sore. I never needed pain killers, did a manual test fire the next day, and built a huge snowman the day after. No complications and minor itching as the hair grew back in.

The actual incision is only about the width of a pinky nail. There is discomfort for a day or so barring any complications. The effects on your ability to perform will be nothing. You will still squirt if that's what your worried about. The regrowth of hair will be itchy as H**L.
It's a smart decision. It really is.

I've had it done. You are awake during the process. You will feel a small pinch twice. Then a few minutes later you will feel like you were kicked in the groin. This will last about 1 minute. Your doctor should tell you step by step what he is doing and what you should feel. Takes about 15 minutes.

You will feel a little discomfort. There is NOT any significant pain. Rest, do not do to much and you will feel better in 48 hrs.
Good luck
