I got soooo close. We argued in the car for ten minutes till I finally said he had two choices, to shut his mouth and go get married or to keep running it and I would walk off and hail a cab in my dress. He shut his mouth, we got married, but are now divorced. If you have a feeling that it won't work out, or he shows you any red flags such as aggression, unkindness, rage, lies or jealousy, then don't get married. A push for quick involvement is also a red flag.

A friend of mine did many years ago well it was the night before the wedding actually and he never regretted it. He married another girl three years after dumping his bride more or less at the alter, and now he's very happy and has been happy for years.
I also know of a couple of people who have even admitted that they felt even when walking up the aisle, it wasn't something they really wanted to do and now most of their marriages are in crisis or broken up. but at least they gave their marriages a try. Marrying the wrong person or when your not ready for it can bring loads of problems in the future. Best to find the courage and walk away if it doesn't feel right.

Me. I almost didn't show up for my wedding because I wasn't marrying for love. It was more of a business agreement. Now, after 12 years of boring marriage, the signs are clear that it was a mistake to begin with even if we did get married only because we had a 5 year old child. If you're not getting married for love, nothing will hold that marriage together.

On my wedding day I stood outside the church wondering if it was the right thing to do. I did it for everyone else really, thinking that I would love him. 21 years later and I desperately want out, it was the biggest mistake of my life. I stay because of the kids. I stayed thinking that love would get us through, but that never came. All I look forward to now is the future, when I can walk away myself and not look back.

Kiefer Sutherland was jilted at the altar by Julia Roberts who ran off with Kiefer's best pal Jason Patric on the eve of their wedding.
Does that count?

Wow. There's a fine how do ya do? A friend of mine did it. He just knew it was the wrong thing to do and I think it was the single most courageous thing I've seen someone do. He did the right thing.
