I talked to this exciting woman for over a year and we had a fantastic time almost every night. We seemed to be perfectly matched in every way. She liked everything I liked and physically, we were each others dream person.
We arranged to meet in a bar in town one rainy wednesday night. She was to be carrying a Harrods shopping bag (just to be sure I'd recognise her). There were only about ten people in the place when I arrived and the only woman with the distinctive harrods bag was standing with her back to me.
I approacher her from behind and playfully put my hand on her slim waiste--she was everything I wanted; tall, long legs and blonde. She turned around and our eyes met--I gasped and stepped back in shock! Mandy? I spluttered. Yes, ''its me'' she beemed back at me. But 'Mandy' wasn't the gorgeous blonde I,d shared every detail of my life with on line for the last year. 'SHE' was a GUY !!! The person I'd 'spoken to' on the phone was his female friend pretending to be him! So, be careful guys ;-)

I had a relationship with a lady met online, for a few months. Even though the breakup was unhappy, overall it was a positive experience.
I am a member of several groups, forums, etc, and have met upwards of about 100 Internet acquaintances in real life - mostly for one off meetings, parties, 'drinks' and suchlike .
I have never had a bad experience through it.

I have had my share of disasters with online meetings. I even had a stalker...scary....he only knew the town I lived in (which was over 3 hrs. away from him), and showed up at my work. When I got home the next morning, I had an email from him saying that I sure looked good mopping the floor! SICKO!! Of course this has been over 10 years ago and I am much smarter now; but it's easy to talk to people when you don't have to look them in the eye, and you have time to think of clever things to say.... It's so easy to be fooled online.

About 10 years ago I met 4 people. They were all nice clean people. People that if we lived near each other, we'd be good friends.

Only two (one is my current boyfriend, we have a son together now too) and they were both good experiences. Of course I met both in public places, not alone.
