Ugh!
People say the same thing to me. I have five and I get "oh you have your hands full" Oh you finally got a girl huh? Maybe they are jealous. I hope these ignorant people dont say that in front of your kids like they do me.

The reason may not be the fact you have four kids- it could be the fact that you're stating this-do these people ask you first how many children you have or do you just offer this information and is your man around if you have a man--these are all reasons why someone might tell you to get tied--However, you say you're happy with your situation--so keep on trucking and good luck

4 kids is a lot these days....but go back 40 years ago and 8 kids was the norm so don't worry about it. People don't know what to say so they try to be funny. I'm sure you are more then tired of hearing it - but on the plus side, you're happy and that's all that matters.

They probably are just saying to get your tubes tide because to them four kids is a lot....and they are just trying to give you some advice....but as long as you are happy and you can afford alot of kids you can have as many as you want it sounds kind of bad but I am 20 years old and i have 2 kids and one in the oven...and I am not getting my tubes tide...that is just more pain I rather have the kids plus they are so cute when they are born and just to see them grow...and then when you it back and think about you and your loved one who formed your kids and see you both in them it is wonderful....good luck and don't worry about what others think or say about you.

at least you are only hearing it after four kids i also have four kids and i heard it after the second one. people nowadays are a little different because when u look at it they were having four,five or more children just one or two generations ago. i think because it is getting harder now to raise a family and most people dont have time. or like my situation i ended up a single parent of four which when i had my kids i never expected to be raising them by myself. i wouldnt worry too much what people say though as long as you are happy just ignore them.

I am the fourth out of five in my family and my parents said people always asked if we are Catholic, which we aren't. So, I think it's because having a family with more than the one boy and one girl idea is less fashionable these days, in part because people are more self involved and children require a lot of dedication and time and $money. And also, people don't have the time or money to raise a large family, especially if both parents HAVE to work to make ends meet. You are very lucky to be able to have as many children as you want. Be proud!

We live in an individualist society and for the average American (at least) it is beyond them to understand why you would take the one life you are sure of having and dedicating it so completely to 4 offspring.
It is rare to have so many kids witht he expectations nowadays- women have to share in financial earning along with the man... & that is if you actually have a 2 parent household. Most people simply cannot afford 4 -5 kids.
I have 2 and I am streched thin, however despite my own sacrifices I find it is worth it for me spiritually- and that is a currency that is scarcely recognized as worthy nowadays.

When I tell people I am a mother of three I get "You know what causes that right?" People think it is funny, but after the third or fourth time it gets annoying. I think people do that because they know they don't have the strength to take on that many children. I too am happy with my little ones! Keep your chin up, it doesn't matter what others think. It only matters what you feel and know in your heart to be true.

Four kids is a lot these days. Most people these days have 2, 1, or none. They think 4 kids equals hell. But if your happy thats good!

because we live in a very materialistic society and most people cannot get passt the stuff they could buy with out any kids. It is an assumption that maybe you were trying for all 4 but had " accidents " and got pregnant.
Jar them with " why?! I want 4 more " and smile and move on.
GOD blessed you with your children so enjoy them and ignore the morons.
