Besides all the sides, desserts...and oh gee's I am starting to salivate...hehehe
My family has a turkey, a honey baked ham, and oyster casserole. I know...oysters??... but it is sooo good and fits right in with everything else.
For more idea's perhaps visit foodnetwork.com or something like that.

I get tired of turkey as well , so some times i fix Indian food at least 2 different curried meat dishes and a variety of vegetables along with yogurt salads. Some times we just grill alot of different meats and have salads and veggie dishes too.But my husband does like to have smoked turkey and potato salad, pea salad, corn on the cob and black eyed peas too . So we just change it around alot.

This Thanksgiving, we're having turkey breast instead of the whole turkey because nobody in my family likes to eat dark meat. We would also have ham and fried chicken and sometimes pot roast.

We usually do the Honey Baked Ham....and then for Christmas have a turkey or vice versa. I'd rather just have pizza - or something non-traditional.

I like being non-traditional. We usually have turkey for T-day, and ham for Xmas, or vice versa. One year I wanted to be completely different, so I had beans and hot dogs! There's nothing wrong with breaking tradition. Happy T-day! Bon apetit.

Sometimes my husbands side of the family has posole its a very wondrful mexican soup heres the recipe but instead of turkey i suggest pork loin.

3 tablespoons olive oil
2 yellow onions, cubed
2 fresh poblano chile peppers, seeded and cut into 1/2 inch strips
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 quarts turkey broth
4 cups cubed cooked turkey
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers
2 (15 ounce) cans cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
2 (15 ounce) cans white hominy, drained
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoons ground cumin
2 tablespoons dried oregano
water
salt and pepper to taste

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
In a large Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat. Cook onions and poblano chiles in oil until soft. Stir in garlic, and cook for one or two minutes. Season with chile powder, cumin, and oregano.
Stir in turkey broth, cooked turkey, canned green chile peppers, cannellini beans, and hominy. Stir in water if more liquid is needed to just cover everything in the pot. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, and cover. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for about an hour to blend flavors.

Being Hispanic, we have pork for a lot of the holidays. It has to be very well cooked or it can upset stomach. Try baking a pork shoulder. The size depends on the number of people of course.
