Your Gyno or Gen Prac can set you up. You can check with the head of the psyche department at your school.
You'll probably want to see a psychologist. Most Psychiatrists do not do any shrinking anymore. They usually just write out prescriptions nowadays.
And Remember, a Shrink is like a piece of clothing, and not all clothes fit you just right. Same goes for shrinks.

you should try out the psychology department just to see how you like it. But if its really serious ask a doctor or friends might know a good psychiatrist of their own.

Go ahead and talk to someone in the psychology dept. I saw a phd candidate as a therapist for a few mos, when I was a student, and she reffered me to a dr in my area. I think they have some sort of a "list" of who does what academically, and they can direct you to someone who deals specifically w/ your issues--sometimes.

Well, because I belong to an HMO I would have to ask my doctor for a referral and go to the one he sends me to.

Go to your local mental hospital and check in. They will eventually assign you one. Best of luck!
