Truthfully it depends on your age...As you grow up you mature.Plain and simple but you are almost always learning social skills and not even realizing it.

Seriously, most of the social skills that you learn from school are learned in kindergarten and other developmental years, not just high school...I'm sure you learned some responsibility in college but that is only part of the bigger picture...I feel like I'm still learning social skills...and I know some people who have been to college and seem to have no social skills whatsoever.
I think it depends on the person and what you need to learn to adapt and fit in.

Most kids learn how to be around people without arguing and controlling in school (some don't) and from home. We also adapt to our surroundings. I learned it by always being around adults (i am an only child) i learned social skills early and have always been able to talk to adults. I learned responsibility when I moved out and had to pay my own bills.

Yes. I would say that social skills are still learned in school. This is where you learn about things like taking turns, and waiting in line, and being patient when everyone wants the same thing.

Social skills are learned from being in social settings. In other words, from being around other people.
Yeah, kids spend lots of time around lots of other people when they're in school. They may not develop the same level of maturity that you get in college, but there's quite a bit of maturing going on between kindergarten and 12th grade.

the generic public college little ones are socialized, only in a diverse way. maximum homeschoolers have confidence this way is detrimental, like myself. Homeschoolers have get entry to to many races, ethnic communities, disables, religions, a protracted time, ect. with which to income from on a on a regular basis foundation. There at the instant are not any restraints different than what their mom and dad might prefer to enforce. Public schoolers are with an identical age daily and the only grownup interaction is with their instructors. not basically that, the disabled (psychological and actual)are all shoved off into yet another lecture room.

I think theres a lot of things about life school doesnt teach, and i mean ALOT OF THINGS!
i think social skills are learnt at the family level, who the family associates with, what kind of friends u make through those connections, and also any extra curricular activities, eg participating in sports, etc.

Yeah you learn your social skills in school. The difference between how people acted in school and as adults is maturity.

Social skills are learned from peer pressure, friends and home.
Peer Pressure- in high school, did you ever not like someone because you friends did not? it is what is expected from you in a group.
Friends- help you determine what they will accept and not.
Home- tells you what to do and what not to do

Kids learn how to talk to people they don't quite know; it allows them to open themselves up to the social world. They learn from other people's mistakes as well as one's they will make. They get to experience opposite sex (as well as same sex for those PC readers) relationships. Not only that, but they will get a sense of work (the teacher is the boss, listen to them, but correct them in a constructive manner). The list goes on, but I don't have much time...
