this might sound bad but its the nicest thing
after my husband came home with my son ( he had jsut been diagnosed with mild autism ) I asked him why it took him so long to get home and he said, " I went the long way to give you 20 extra minutes of the life you knew before I came home to change our whole future for our son"

I have never really recieved much gratitude for the jobs I have done...but about a month ago or so, while talking to a co-worker a woman came up to me and said:
"Thank you. When I go home at night, I can sleep peacefully, knowing that someone is making sure my husband is safe."
I work security in a psychiatric hospital, and to hear that almost made me cry.
It is very rare to hear any sort of compliment in this field, people only want to blame us when things do not work perfectly.
But I think this is only the second nicest thing I have ever heard. The first is highly common in our world, but few people appreciate and give it the respect these words really deserve.
"I love you!"
These words make my world turn, without them, life would be bland and dull.

My mom and dad always say they love me when we talk on the phone and tell me what a great daughter I am.

My mom when I went to university. She said "Son, be careful with the girls from college, they're so disembarassed !"
Actually I still didn't see any girls like this !
