X-mas gifts last year and bdays this year with no thank you cards or even a phone call. Sent a gift and called 9yo goddaughter on her bday, she wouldn't even come to the phone. We are getting fed up and feel like not sending anything to the kids anymore. What should we do?

Don't send them any gifts! Just send them a card in the mail and that's it. I know that you love them but why should you send them something without even a little thanks. Plus the parents should encourage their kids to have good manners and send a thank you card!

I think it is past time to stop. It is the fault of the parent more than the child and if you are to be angry it would be with them. The mom/pop should take the child to the store to pick out a thank you card and then go home and fill it out. If this is not being taught in the home the kids will never have any manners or learn to be thankful. I would tell the parents how you feel since you are the godparents of these two

I would take it down to a card in the mail and that's it. At least you acknowledge the occasion, but they don't deserve gifts.

STOP the gifts and see if they acknowledge that.

sounds like they are spoiled, but at that age their parent should be teaching them proper manners
