I buy them when they're still partially green, but it's only a matter of a couple of days before they're brown. HELP!!

You can hang them on a banana tree. You can peel your ripe bananas and individully wrap them either in foil or saran wrap and freeze until you are ready to eat them.Frozen bananas are a great snack for people on diets.I love them. You can thaw bananas and make banana bread.

ACTUALLY, if you put a banana in the fridge, the peel WILL get brown, but the ripening/rotting process of the actual fruit will slow down a bunch. You can probably buy yourself another three or four days of good eating by stashing them in the fridge once they get to the ripe-ness level you desire.

I read that an onions stored with the bananas helps slow down the browning, and keep them out of direct light.

Just keep them out on the counter, do not refrigerate, if they get brown and overly ripe, you can always make bananna cake with a banana creamcheese frosting.

buy a few ripe and a few somewhat green. The ripe ones should be consumed within two or three days and the green ones should last about five days.

I keep mine on a banana tree, it keeps them off the counter and they don't brown as fast.

You can paint it with green paint for ever-green or cover it with polybag and keep it in fridge.
