Bush + anyone who cares about the law controlling the House...

Bush has admitted to felony criminal violations. His attorney's have stipulated to felony criminal violations in criminal violations in court. And the Supreme Court has confirmed felony criminal violations.

What more proof do people need before they will hold a trial?

The Democrats will not bother to hold impeachment hearings for Bush should they win control of Congress. There is no longer a special prosecutor law. The President could appoint someone for investigative purposes, but has to find the money. Congress probably could either reinstate the special prosecutor law, probably over a Bush veto, or carry out its own investigations. But none of it will directed toward impeachment.

Should the Democrats gain control of either the Senate or House, we may expect hearings on the war and its conduct, as well as the holding of terrorist suspects. The best way to forecast the types of hearings that will be held is to look at recent calls for hearings and investigations by Democrats. For either party, that would be a natural path to take should they have control of the Congress or one house of Congress, but not the Presidency. Its a great way to shed light on what the non-Presidential party believes is not going right and to steer voters toward its side in the next Presidential election.

As to impeachment, the attempt to impeach Clinton took a lot out of Congress. To this point, its doubtful Bush has done anything impeachable and worth the considerable effort to carry the process to a conclusion. For impeachment to occur, the Democrats will need to win both the House and Senate. Even the best forecasts at this time don't tell us that will happen. Some believe the best chance of control is in the House. The Senate should remain either in Republican hands, or with the vice president acting as tie breaker. Personally, I see neither happening. More likely, will be gains in both the House and Congress large enough for the Democrats to prevent legislation they disagree with from passing, but control remaining as it is now.

Bush + Democrats controlling the House = Special Prosecutor but no impeachment.

The House knows that an impeachment would never get passed Senate hearings and also that would not be good for our country right now. Instead, they are expected to SLAM the breaks on his out-of-control tyranny and begin to hold him accountable.

I expect a lot, I mean A LOT, of congressional investigative hearings. This has also been predicted on a few PBS news shows BTW.

I DEFINITELY have to say impeachment because Bush could no longer get away with his bad misconduct while serving as the President of our nation. His incompetency is the root cause of his constant, but egregious abuses of his constitutionally-granted powers for political purposes and personal gain!

democrats would not impeach bush, but they may censure him for many of the things he has done which violate the law. he is not above the law, and should be forced to comply when he decides he doesn't need to because he doesn't like it.
he swore an oath to uphold, protect and defend the constitution and the laws of the united states. he has not gone much to fulfil his oath. he refuses to comply with laws he himself signs, but uses a signing statement to not obey those laws. he has , to date, signed over 750 signing statements saying he will not obey the very laws he signed into law.
i personally would vote for impeachment just for that. i doubt that the dems would do so, but will probably do much better ovewrsight which the reps have just refused to do at all. the dems would not give him whatever he asks for, just because he asks for it, while the reps just foll0ow like lap dogs, doing whatever he says, regardless of whether it right or wrong..

Faulty question. Erroneously contends that Democrats will control Congress in November.
