I think pro-life should not be included in this argument.

its not about being pro-life; being pro-CHOICE does not make you anti-LIFE. However being pro-life does make you anti-choice, in this issue at least.

I personally do not believe in abortions for myself because of my religion however i do believe in the FREEDOM to choose. (the US is about being free, is it not?)

People who are anti-choice, in my opionion, do not have a reasonable argument. What do you think?

I think the woman who is carrying the child inside of her has the decision over the unborn baby

And just because your pro-choice does not mean your also pro-killing!

CHOICES! If we ever made abortions illegal again, America would be turning against the "freedoms" it talks and brags about so much.

I agree with you. Pro-choice does not = pro-abortion. I am against abortion but support the right of women to choose. I think there should be a mandatory educational session that takes place before an abortion to explain all the consequences. But ultimately it is the woman's choice and between her and God to deal with the repercussions.

Edit: Everyone has choices to make in life. Some people choose to live by a certain code of ethics and morals and others live by their own set of ethics and morals. And yes, individual freedom is a liberal ideal...actually I prefer to call it a Libertarian ideal. How can you take away one individual liberty of your choosing and support another without being a hypocrite?

I support everyone's right to choose what is best for them. I don't agree or disagree with abortion. It should be looked at individually not as a group. Yes I have known people who use abortion like birth control and that is sick and wrong and should not happen. I know other people whose lives were in danger due to the pregnancy, easy choice there. I know others who just should not be parents, EVER! They didn't even make it through a pregnancy without abusing drugs therefore abusing the baby.

It is an individual problem that needs to be dealt with that way.

Persoanlly, I would never ever ever get an abortion no matter what, but thats my CHOICE, made at my own FREE WILL according to my morals and beleifs. I do think its wrong for people to impose their beleifs on others. People who are anti-abortion dont have the right to tell everyone else what to do, i mean everyone has a right to think what they want. I think its disgusting that anti-abortion activists camp out at abortion clinics with pictures of dead baby foetuses..the activists dont know the reason behind a women's choice to abort, so what gives them the right to condemn it?

As long as we're defining the terms of the argument, its not about abortion or choice. Its about when life begins. If life begins at conception, abortion is deliberately ending an innocent human life. That is murder. If life begins at birth, abortion is morally equivalent to liposuction. In that case, there is not argument against it. The only other possible time life could begin is 'viability'. This is defined as the point at which the child could survive without the mother. I defy anyone to determine when that occurs. Given advances in medical technology, that point changes constantly.

For what its worth, I believe life begins at conception.

wow big question and you are opening a HUGE can of worms here
if you dig deep enough, you will find that pro-choice is really in contradiction to it's own term, because the person making the choice to take the life of the person inside her is not allowing the person who is inside her the opportunity to choose life or not choose it. Therefore your argument that it is a free country is in contradiciton to itself.....

It's about taking innocent life. So if you are "pro-CHOICE" then I suppose you support the "choice" of partial birth abortion. So it's ok to partially birth a baby (the head) in the THIRD trimester, stab it in the head (while it is ALIVE) and suck the brain out unitl the skull collapses, that is what you support? That is the difference. If you want to do that to a convicted murderer, who has been found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, go ahead, but leave the innocent babies alone! Too many teenage girls use abortion as a form of birth control. Typical liberal thinking: if it feels good at the time, do it. Worry about the consequences later!

We call it pro-life because it is a little babies life that we are talking about here. Mothers who want to kill the baby inside them are very much anti-life!

How is it about choice? Does the baby get to choose? Does the father get to choose? Does her family get to choose?

This argument is all about our age old habit of taking rights away from and destroying those who cant defend themselves in order to serve our own selfish interests.

while i believe it is murder , it has been provided and legalized, therefore it is every womans choice wether she will murder her child or not. i cannot make her choice, but i do pray that God touches the hearts of women in the turmoil of decision and they choose life. i was faced with this 14 years ago and chose life, thank God, she will be 14 in november and i know how much myself and the world would have lost having never known this beautiful loving girl.

I trust the individual woman over the government to make the choice.

Im sure the baby thats murdered would have preferred a different "choice".

Murder is murder. If liberals are free to murder babies, why is it illegal for me waste liberals?

Maybe if two people are going to have sex, they should do it responsibly and be mature enough to accept the consequences. My son was lucky enough to survive Roe V Wade. Of course, his parents arent flag burning baby killers.
