It does sound like a UTI and believe it or not if you drink enough water, cranberry juice and take vitamin C it will go away on it's own without an antibiotic I only know because I got rid of one this way due to not having insurance. It does take longer and you have to drink a lot of water and juice if you don't drink and flush it out it will spread to your kidney and cause you some real problems you don't want...

Boy, there are a lot of women here who've been in your predicament. Yes, it's probably a bladder or urinary tract infection. If you've never had one before, you need to see a doctor or physician's assistant.

They'll ask you to give a urine sample and they'll give you instructions on how to provide it. You'll have to wash the genital area, then let a bit of urine stream before you put the cup in place. Sounds worse than it is... don't worry.

The doctor will probably prescribe an antibiotic, and don't be surprised if the meds make your urine turn color (I've had bright orange and deep blue-green... kinda makes peeing fun as long as you know to expect it).

For the future:
to avoid bladder infections, women are encouraged to increase water intake, and if you like cranberry juice, try drinking that while you're being treated for the infection. Other things to do include urinating frequently (don't hold it, as this encourages bacterial growth), and be sure when you wipe, to go from FRONT to BACK.

Hope you feel better... good luck!

You have a urinary tract infection. You need to go to the doctor immediately. The doctor will ask you for a urine sample to confirm this diagnosis, and then prescribe you antibiotics and something for the pain. You must seek medical attention immediately. If you don't, the infection could spread to your bladder and kidneys. This is an infection and the only thing that will get rid of it is antibiotics. The pain should subside within a day of starting the medication.,

That is more than likely a UTI. Please seek medical attention as soon as you can. You can drink cranberry juice to ease some of the symptoms until you can see the Doctor.

I agree with the first answer. You need to go see a doctor so you can get antibiotics for this so it doesn't get worse.
