Considering the bias of the fact you quoted, It's not surprising, at all, that prices would be dropping, just before an election!!! ~ It's called "Pandering", to the electorate!!!

Gas prices are currently falling because of a little principle known as supply and demand. Currently Middle East conflict is not at a frenzy, and there are more gas available than usually. A vast right wing conspiracy cannot possibly alter gas prices on a GLOBAL oil market. You would realize that your theory is simply impossible if you understood anything about the oil market.

No, not peculiar at all. It happens every year. This year it has been predicted that gas prices may slip back under $2 during the winter. So if they keep going down after the election will that mean that Congress or the President had something to do with it? No again.

Not peculiar at all. Both sides think that lower gas prices will help them. Plus the summer vacations are over and the demand for gas is lower. It may rise again by Thanksgiving which is the next big travel holiday.

No. It's been falling for about a month now. So, from August to November is about a third of a year, hardly "just in time" for the elections. It's seasonal and depends on supply, demand, and the perceptions of speculators.

So how does falling gas prices specifically favor Republican candidates? Don't democrats buy gas too?
Oh, that's right. You ALL have hybrid cars. Say "Hi" to Al for me next time you see him in his cavalcade of SUV's going to his movie about global warming.

I'm not surprised in the least. I'm sure that a new 2nd in command for Al Quada will be captured in mid October.
