Roosevelt and other politicians did everything they could to lessen our fears while at the same time sending tens of thousands of our children to their deaths protecting us (I'm not being sarcastic, it was a terrible necessity), it seems the opposite is being done by Bush and Cheny...the only thing I'm afraid of is them...they are capable of saying anything stupid to rile people up overseas (makes all americans look greedy and violently inclined...like we don't care about lives in other countries)and have a track record of NOT pursuing diplomacy...
they are using fear to make justify abuse of our rights and foreigners who may or may not be terrorists...I don't believe him when he speaks...His State of the Union Address was a sham..lots of big talk and nothing to back it up on a variety of issues. Even if we are the most powerful country in the world now, we won't always be.
It's funny (not in a ha ha way) that Canada has not supported us in Iraq, but they are carrying the brunt of the fighting in Afghanistan these last weeks and it looks like it's getting worse---and I've heard people complaining that Canada is full of Liberal pascifist is not taking part in fighting terrorists (see link) "At times the ground shook and the noise was overpowering. “We are not doing f***ing peacekeeping operations here, we are doing combat operations,” Lieutenant-Colonel Omer H. Lavoie, 40, the commanding officer of the Canadian forces, told The Times"

A lot of people feel the way you do because using a disaster such as 9/11 for publicity just doesn't sit well with most people but in fairness to Bush he is not responsible for those ads. Although, he has used 9/11 for his advantage before.

Yeah! We all know those terrorists are harmless! Also, they just want to be our friends!
You're missing the point because either you're an idiot or completely oblivious to global politics.

Welcome to our growing club. I don't like to use generalizations, but the Republicans have always been great at using fear to influence the public. They don't seem to know how to come down to earth and be real. Their commercials always make me puke- they just don't ring true.

Yes... you are missing the point. Your heart has been corrupted by spiritual forces to the point where you are more than comfortable with hate. I think haters would fit in better with our enemies here on earth. They are fueled by hate as well. I hope you all find the freedom from such hate that is available to all.

YOU ARE A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF PEOPLE DON'T WAKE UP. ARE YOU A TERRORIST HUGGER OR JUST ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT THINK THAT IF WE LEAVE THEM ALONE THEY'LL GO AWAY?
