The war on terror is actually a war against democracy. The demolition of the three buildings in New York was the GO signal to assault democracy on a massive scale.
Civil liberties were and still are the target of the Bush junta. The universal excuses of 9/11 and "national security" are used for every criminal act the Bush junta wants to unleash onto the American people. Might it be wire-tapping the country, snooping around in private bank accounts, going through rental lists in public libraries or credit card statements to see if you might have bought a book that is critical of the regime in Washington.

The Bush junta needs the terror in order to scare the American populace into submission whenever they need to. I.E. right before elections.
That is the reason why they do not intend to win the war on terror and have shifted their attention to the original objective: The war for oil.

The Bush junta must be stopped. Let's do so in November, or at some other time.

It is about warring against terrorism. What do you think it is about? Is this a serious question, or is it more like asking what year the war of 1812 took place?

It's the political catchphrase of our generation. Using that phrase, they can justify any action without too many questions.

Just look at some of the things they have justified by saying they are integral to the "war on terror":
- Invading not one, but two sovereign nations and overthrowing their governments.
- Spying on american citizens without warrants.
- Blocking the sale of property from one corporation to another, even after an investigation showed no increased risk.
- Currently trying to legalize torture.

Really, it's all about control. They can control public opinion with buzzwords, and we turn a blind eye to the government's questionable activities.

If these wankers we fight now would don a singular uniform or were acting on behalf of a nation, we could call it the war on a specific group.

As it now stands, we have to fight against people who want to terrorize us.

I would say using terror to create mass hysteria upon a people as to benefit by taking freedoms.

It's a marketing phrase, used to get people emotionally motivated and to justify any action, no matter how illegal or irrational, all in the name of trying to protect people against a threat that has always existed.
