I think the Pope is a professor of religious history and is more qualified to speak on religion than anyone on Yahoo.
And why do we treat this issue as if it is something new. When it is done to Christianity, people shrug their shoulders and go on. Why are you so concerned? It reminds me of how parents treat a spoiled child.

I am tired of the Islamic world protest like that every time they don't like something. What a herd!
The Pope said that Mohamed was spreading Islam through the sword. Is that not so? Is that false?
I know exactly what is going to happen - they will riot for a few days, and later one of their leaders will declare that the whole incident was the fault of the Jews! Ha ha ha...

stunning observations, and if i will proceed..... the place is the Jews apology? Iran at present ran a exhibition celebrating the holocaust, on the same time as nevertheless denying it on the comparable time. the place is the united kingdom's apology? The checklist merely is going on and on. My suggestion to the Pope or the different united states of america or baby-kisser is rarely apologise to Muslims. They deserve each little thing they are getting and greater. all of us know they choose to create a caliphate in Europe of their quest to stress the international to alter into Muslim. they are in a position to in trouble-free terms ever do it by using stress. And thats precisely what the Pope replaced into touching on, quoting from the 14th Century. it is conflict, A conflict started by using the evil Muslims. A conflict we in the west did no longer choose. No clarification for apology. enable them to first apologise for the wear they are inflicting harmless voters. enable them to reign in the Bin Ladens, the Al Zawahiris and different lunatics who're waging this ineffective conflict.

The Pope is right. This reminds me of when Pope John Paul II took on Communism.

I don't think the Pope should have mentioned the passage, as it just fanned the flames, but I don't think he was wrong. He simply read a passage from an old book.
I think the Muslim leaders are absolute idiots. They can criticize us, call us infidels, declare jihad on us, etc. by their morals, but we're not allowed to read from an old text that said Islam was spread by the sword (which it was, as was Christianity sometimes), and, as such, has violent aspects to it.

for those who beleive in a God that man created why not believe in the teachings and writtings of such religions .Would examination of religion prove once and for all that no such thing as God or his son or prophets have been on earth performing miricles .If you needed to do a miricle what would it be .How about from now on all people will be born with 12 toes .That would sure make believing easy .
Since no proof at all exists for God and the so called prophets and his son Jesus how can anyone not come to the conclusion hitler was right .THAT we all need to be one race language and belief .Or we can all live life killing each other and fighting while people starve and die in the millions around the world while we add to the numbers spending billions making weapons for war . WE are such smart people but we can not get a handle on reality can we .

Screw the Islamist. The pope had the right to say what he did. I am sick to death of tip toeing around a religion that pretends to be peaceful but looks the other way as innocent people all over the world get slaughtered in the name of Islam. Let them protest, who the hell cares, if they start damaging personal property they need to be ready to get shot. I'm sick of their hypocrisy.

I believe the Pope did nothing wrong and the Muslim response should be cause for concern. It tends to lend creedence to the words to which he referred.
