I for one am not "pro criminal," but I would prefer than any creature held at the mercy of humans - from the chicken I get my eggs from to the bastards who orchestrated the 9/11 attacks - should be treated humanely. That is what separates us from the terrorists.

It may seem at first glance that Liberals are pro-criminal as you put it, but if you look at the matter more closely you would see its more about rights. The Constitution makes it clear that a man is innocent until proven guilty, however Conservatives constantly push for new laws that would infringe on this basic right. Liberals fight to prevent this gradual erosion of every American's right to fair treatment and a fair trial. If it wasn't for Liberals, this country would be no better than any other communist country or dictatorship by now.

Knucklehead. Liberals are not "pro criminal". Its just that we feel, just as the Constitution states, that all consideration be made to insure the person on trial or in jail, is truly the guilty party. If the cops or the court or witnesses lie, cheat, embellish or other wise break the law to get evidence or a conviction, it should be thrown out.

Does that mean conservatives are pro-police state?

Even as a conservative, I'd rather the state err on the side of letting a criminal go free than imprisoning an innocent person. If that makes me pro-criminal, I can live with that.

WTF? Can I have what you are smoking? I'm a liberal and I've been pushing for stronger criminal punishments. Why? Because when I was in the 7th grade my cousin was killed by her boyfriend. While out on bail he went hunting in Canada (violating his bail), and he raped and sodomized a classmate of mine. He also stole a new car, big screen tv, their new computer, and the jewelry her mom had. For all of that, he was out of prison before I graduated. He's now serving a life sentence in another state because he tried to kill two state troopers.

But by the same token, I want to make sure that someone who wasn't involved in a crime doesn't get punished unfairly. Case in point, a gentleman in Texas was accussed of rape and murder, but there was video tape evidence that showed him at a bank in Oklahoma City at the time in question. The video tape was ruled inadmissable and upheld by the judges that Bush put in place. (Yes, this happened while Bush was in office.) This gentleman is sitting in prison, serving a life sentence for a crime he didn't do.

I've seen too many innocent guys go to prison simply because they couldn't afford an attorney (The West Memphis 3) while a lot of guys get off because they could (O.J. Simpson).

Criminals could also use the stand your floor rules to interrupt out with homicide. What better reason might want to someone have for taking pictures someone than a rival gang member taking pictures at you.

Why are conservatives pro wars?
Why do they kill innocent people?
Isn't that criminal?
Why are conservatives then also pro criminals?

Why do people like you drive a wedge between the people? The differences between American conservatives and liberals is not much; quit acting like it to polarize people.

Conservatives seem only to like criminals with lots of money. They vote them into gouvernment.
