The Government. i.e. the people fund the NHS so how can it be "IN DEBT"
It's being run like a Business rather than a Government funded establishment.

Hostpital, wards, beds, jobs are being lost because of "debts"

Yes more money than ever (may) be going in, but it's doing no good.

OR AM I JUST LISTENING TO THE MEDIA........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, the Tories did more damage, and probably will again if they get back into power. The truth about Blair is that he's a Tory in discuise, and does run things like a business, there is a price tag on how much a persons life is worth, but thats life. The media don't help though, the truth is so contorted when it comes from them.

To give you an idea how corrupt the media are, my Grandad at a D-day rememberance rubbed his eye because it itched slightly, and a cameraman stuck a camera in his face, took a picture, and reported it in the local paper as one of the servicemen couldn't hold back the tears of the thought of some rubbish. I know thats not a serious issue, but it highlights there way of taking a point, then writing a novel they can sell to the monkeys for a fat profit!!

It's the Governments fault mainly - Lawyers (especially Scots) can't run business's - but they do think that they can tell others how to do it!
It doesn't matter how much money they throw at the problem - if they throw it in the wrong direction the result is what we've got now.
Just a thought - I went to my nieces wedding - She and her husband and virtually all their friends are employed by the NHS - during a conversation about working conditions and the NHS and McLabour in general I was told 'I will always vote for Labour as long as I keep getting paid more and more - LIKE I AM! - I think this is called buying votes.

I'm no expert on the NHS and God knows, I'm no fan of this Labour government, but Blair and co have spent more in real terms (i.e. above inflation) than anyone else has.

In the first two years of the Labour government, they kept to the Tory spending plans (in other words, try to underfund it so much they can end up justifiying privatising it.) then they increased spending to record levels. And I mean Billions more.

Of course, it's not just a matter of how much you spend but how you use it. It's a very complicated issue.

The answer to your question is clearly no but how to fix the NHS? If I knew that I would also tell you the winning lottery numbers this week.

Do me a favour! where were you when the tories were putting the NHS in the hands of their quango buddies and offspring who hadn,t a clue about the medical profession which meant they were oblivious to what was required to do a good job of running it. I am a very disillusioned labour voter but to blame them for the state of the NHS is out of order.
The tories had eighteen years turning the country into a hen,s bum while feathering their nests none of them more so than the thatchers, what you have to realise is it,s a lot easier to cause a mess than to clean one up.

Don't trust the News Media.
They have an agenda to propagate liberal and left wing ideas.
Watch Fox News for the truth.

Politicians should be kept away from the NHS, by armed force if neccessary! they all want to mold it to their idea of how it should work & that is wrong.

its about treating PEOPLE not the whims of politicians.
