Another answerer said this: "Killing people removes people from the community, which disrupts community services, hinders community functionality and reduces community resources. And if you kill too many people, the community will cease to exist."

That is the only reason it is wrong to kill people, according to this person. There is nothing about the absolute worth of the individual there. This person believes that an individual only has value in proportion to their contribution to some community. This person does not believe in individual worth, and by implication, individual rights or the implicit value of the individual. It is all about the hive.

So for someone who thinks that way, I suppose it is only natural for them to favor abortion. Individual life is meaningless. It only has meaning within the context of some kind of barbed-wire, Berlin-walled community. If you are of no value to the community, then you have no value, like a broken egg for your omelette.

This person was explaining, in a frighteningly articulate and totally serious way, why government punishes murderers. Not because the act of murder itself is wrong, but because everyone else will no longer be able to tax the victim's income and enjoy his earnings.

Jim W, I did not take anything out of context. I explained my question, and I gave this person's response. I copied that response verbatim. If he meant something else, then he has the edit option. But my understanding was murder is not immoral because it attacks the individual, but the community. And I thought that mentality went a long way to explain a lot of other things your side tends to believe, like socialized medicine, progressive taxation, etc. It tells me that there is a common theme in your thinking, that individuals only exist for you to exploit, to mine, to assemble into vast machines and produce to further your idea and goal of heaven on earth.

I love the way you twist people's words to suit your arguments. If you didnt, you'd have no argument.

You are the kind of (manipulative)person who thinks shes such a good wittle girl, wuving god and all that cutsey stuff, but underneath it
she is a cold and calculating spider.Actually, your remarks are a red flag that if you were arounin the Dark Ages, you'd say burningg Heretics alive at the stake is the Lord's work.

Not very pro-choice,huh?
The absolute worth of the individual? from a demanding conformist like you? That is funny,in a dark way.

You took that person's words out of context. You are a typical dishonest ultrachristian girl who hears ONLY what she wants to.

You owe this entire community an apology for trying to pour so much filth into it,but you'd never be woman enough to admit a mistake this flamboyant.

Read Dune's No Man Is An Island. Any person's death, though we may have now awareness of that person diminishes us. We are all part of this existence. Sometimes I think it's just so vast that it becomes easier for us to keep our focus limited.
