Not directly. I believe there should be a test though that must be passed before voting. Like a drivers test. No opinion, just basic factual information (who was the first president, what does the 1st amendment protect, how does the president act as a check and balance on Congress, etc.)
Such a test would reduce the number of voters on both sides. However, based upon the questions and answers I've seen on this site, I believe it would practically eliminate liberals from voting.

If "sound decision making" was the basis for voting, stuck in the mud conservatives would have been banned from voting a long time ago. Then we could have avoided the global fiasco we're currently in and having to try to explain the simple facts of life to people who hide behind the flag claiming they're patriots.

Oh please...Like the republicans are honest? How about the district in Texas that had more than twice the republicans vote than there were actual voters in the entire county. Or how about republicans trying to redraw districts that marginalize minority voters? Or how about the districs that the exit polls show voted democrat by a 2-1 margin, yet the republicans won it by a 3-1 margin? Or how about getting turned away from the voting booth because republicans object to your last name? (True story, a co-worker was banned from voting because her last name the same last name as a convicted felon. My co-worker is a 50-something upper middle class white woman. The convict is a late 20 something middle class black woman.) or how about using the texas voter roles to verify Florida voters? (Election 2000).
So quit playing the liberals-are-dirty card. Everyone knows that voter fraud works in both parties.
Stupid a$$ clown.

Your name is ironic in that you obviously don't understand the freedoms granted in America. How about we ban the ignorant (like you) from voting, I mean it's clear you don't even understand how this country works, how can you be expected to make a sound decision?

Banning liberals from voting.
So, now you conservatives are really showing your true colors. You want to eliminate all those who oppose you and create a fascist state.
