I've been working for a company for about few years now and I feel this negative vibe from someone who doesn't want me to move up. What can you do? Do you ignore her? What if she's been working for the company for a very long time and she is close to the higher up management positions. I've started to work with her and feel that it won't work because I know she is being fake with me.

It doesn't matter if she if being fake or not.. just do your job.. you don't have to like the people you work with.. just be courtesy and professional towards each other..

It's just work! Don't let it bother you. You just be fake right back. If you are working with her, eventually it will come out as to her negative vibes. It is ok, and often normal for work relationships to be fake. Nobody has to like anyone as a job requirement. Just as long as you get along well enough that the work gets done.

Take her out to coffee and tell her how you feel. At the very least continue to be nice to her and do special little things for her, like asking if you could get her coffee when you are going to get some, or asking if she needs anything from the supply closet. If you continue to do your job as best as you can, good things will happen. You must know that if you see her faults, others do as well. Just keep at it, things will get better.

Having had to deal with this particular situation, the best u can do is be civil and polite, seems to me she is a real suck up and tattle tale.
Do the best u can do everyday and don't lower yourself to her level.
There are deeper rooted problems as to why she is like that.

Roll your eyes and walk away. Oh and watch you butt. Fake people are the types that usually end up getting your job or choice assignments.

remain cordial with her and don't call her out. it will make you look jealous and she will turn it all around to try to make you look bad. you probably aren't the only one that's noticed. so do your job and don't worry about her. her time will come. remember keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

you just keep working away. its good to know if she's being fake so that u are prepared for it when something goes down. but just smile and keep pushing

Take everything and everyone with a grain of salt...its not like you have to sleep with them ...let it slide..people notice when things don't bother you..they eventually give up..

you are ahead of her game because you see what she is trying....stay ahead of her, act professionally and do your job right. watch her on the side of your eye, and play her game better than she is playing her game....[jealous is her key word] be careful working with her and watch her actions..
