The former spouse of the person (widow) could contact the social security department and ask them. With all of the theft things going on it may be hard.

There should be some forms. A death certificate or something that could possible have some leads. Good Luck

Yes. If you are related to the person and can prove it, you can go to any workers compensation office from the department of children and families or the SS admin office and request it. This is a delicate subject as certain people use the SS of deceased persons for obscure purposes.

If he is your husband or someone that you knows husband and he is dead there are probably several ways to find his ss#. If he had health insurance you can get it from his policy...only if you are his wife though....You can call his last employer and get it from their database...they had to have it on their application. When you applied for a marriage license it should have been put on there you can get a copy of the application from the Clerk of Courts....there are probably several other ways...just think about where you use your social security number...did he have a cell phone...that company would have it....did he do any banking online with companies...the companies that he paid online would have his ss#.

find the person's marriage certificate, it should show the date of birth and age when married....
it not, go to social security and ask for help in locating the social security.. also old paycheck stubs, a closed checkbook, take to the bank and they might give it to you, was this person you were married to? look for old tax papers,
