Good luck with that. They'd be on the first boat to Canada or Mexico.

I have grandchildren that I do not want to see go off to war, but I Would like to see the draft come back in, so that all these people who have immigrated to the U>S> for the better life, will have to pay for their comforts, by being drafted/ It really gauls me to read some of the criticisms by immigrants and children of immigrants, who have no idea the price that has been paid for our freedom, that allows them to make such comments. In their own country they would be tortured or even killed, for their criticism.

If there was a draft, it wouldn't matter what your political leanings are.
In the present situation, I think all the people who support the war and are young enough should be lining up at the enlistment offices.
People should put their money where their mouths are.

No simple Simon! If anyone should be drafted it should be the damn jail birds. What are you a Republican? If you were so smart, why didn't you think about putting the criminals out there on the front lines? It would save us money on feeding and sheltering them, plus most of them have that killer instinct anyway!

Get off of the Liberals backs and think before you write. I hope you think before you open your mouth in public!

Go where? Canada? The Canadians will have wished to god they built the fence. Of course this time there should be no amnesty to bring the whiny babies home.
There won't be a draft unless something really bad happens. Over 75% of the military is comprised of conservatives from middle to upper middle income families, so the conservative will be more likely to enlist before draft. The Liberals will do as they always do, sit their lazy whiny asses at home and protest.

The draft would not change that, Liberals are always first to volunteer.

The president should go first to lead his men though.

No draft, just slap Rummy and beef up the number of military we have. Why the armed forces were ever cut I have no idea. We knew it was stupid before I retired in 1992. We (senior enlisted types) all said this s**t would happen. I am beginning to think that all elected persons regardless of race/creed/politics are braindead jerks.

A lot of us have already served. George "Where am I supposed to Report?" Bush and Dick "5 deferments" Cheney? Not so much.

If there is another draft then it should be equally impressed on all who are in the selected age group and not seriously disabled. Educational and special exemptions should not be given to anyone.

Not necessarily...the ones that shoulkd go first are the ones who started the war, then those who support the war (more the reasons FRO the war)...includiing the president, his daughters, Cheney, Rove, Rice, and their families...

You get the idea...

No, it is the repuglicans that are gung ho, chicken hawks, if I was a young man, facing the draft I would burn my draft card and move to Canada, they have a better health system anyway.
