I would love a hybrid car more than anything. Do I have the money to buy a new car? Of course not. I hope people will start to buy more hybrids as the years go on and 20 year olds like myself will have the money to get one as we grow up, start careers and families and find the money to support ourselves and contribute excellently to the environment.
MY question is, when will we find an alternate fuel supply? When will we have more public transportation opportunities?

I'd drive one if my car current car ('91 Nissan Sentra, gets excellent mpg as it is) died, but I really don't have the money either way. I'm moving out of the country in a year for grad school in a place that has wonderful public transportation and I can walk to most places so buying a new car in general wouldn't be a good idea. But if I was in the market I would for sure go hybrid.

As soon as the batteries are not an accident waiting to happen and the vehicle price and performance are comparable to a regular car. One thing about hybrids is that the downstream maintenance costs are high. The batteries only last 5 years (cost $5,000 to replace) and the generator set will likely last about as long as a regualr alternator. Be prepared for astronomical variable costs downstream that gas cars do not have, as well as all the downstream costs (tires, brakes, widgets) that regular cars DO have.
The real question is when will we have turbo diesel engines in the US like they do in Europe? The technology is here, but the Big Three poisoned the well years ago to diesels and that will not likely change.

Never. I need to drive an SUV because of my business. I support drilling for oil all over the place.
BTW, you cannot succeed with conservation when the economy grows and needs more and more energy.
I support your right to use a hybrid and do not support the agenda to force others to.
Your point about making Arabs wealthy is correct. We are financing our own enemies by not drilling for the oil in the US

I agree! Do they have a hybrid large enough to tote my 5 kids around and the groceries I need to get weekly? When they do - I'll be pulling out the checkbook!
I think others should consider driving motorized scooters. Only takes 1 gallon of gas to go 80 miles!

When stupid Americans (and their Politicians) realize they are paying for their own destruction by making the oil-producing Arab nations wealthy who in turn fund 100% of the terrorists.
Republicans are a bunch of greedy oil tycoons who are selling their country to the devil. Can you believe we are paying for the dirty nuke they are preparing for us?
We can put a man on the moon, but cannot figure out how to make a good electric car? come on..!!

When Hybrids are less expensive, prove to significantly increase gas mileage, and stop looking like little ***** mobile space scooter contraptions.

When I can afford to do it. I drove my last car 12 years, and hoping for another 12 out of this one. So it will be awhile.
