A moderate Republican. He certainly would not be a democrat in today's environment.

Probably a Republican, however most liberals would say otherwise. And 'Got_da_scoop' the republicans are no more extremist than Michael Moore is a republican. Michael Moore has caused all of the democratic party other than the few like Joe Lieberman to become radical anti-war anti-republican hatemongerers. Blaming the entire Republican Party just because Bush is a republican. It would be the same way around if he were a liberal.

Historians have said JFK would be a moderate Democrat and Nixon would be a conservative Democrat.

Boardrunner94 says the way Kennedy handled the Cuban missile crisis shows he was a conservative! Wait a minute, JFK cleverly AVOIDED a war through intelligent bluff, intel, AND diplomacy. He didn't START one through ignorance, macho posturing, and refusal to negotiate!

He'd be a moderate Democrat, but then virtually all Democrats on a national level are moderates.

It's the Republican Party that has recently embraced extremism.

It wouldn't matter what party affiliation JFK was today, he was intelligent enough to reach across all party lines to do what was necessary for the good of the people. It's too bad more people aren't like him today instead of just blaming "the other party" for all the ills of the world.

Well, Kennedy was also Catholic. So, he definitely would've been anti-abortion, the believed in traditional American values and stood up to communism instead of embracing it (he saw Castro as a threat instead of a "charismatic leader" as he is called by so many libs today). And the answer is: Moderate republican.

I'd guess a moderate Republican. Of course, I think I could toss a coin and answer. Bay of Pigs, Cuban missle crisis, tax cut. that's Conservative thinking also.
