The USA is a rupublic not a democracy as so many think. We are a nation of laws NOT just mob rule.

mymadsky has said it right. We are really not a true democracy. Why? A true democracy has all the people making the rules and laws. In our case, we don't do that. We send people to Washington to represent us instead, and they make the rules. That is why it is a republic and not a democracy.

You're talking about anarchy - a state with no government where people can do what they like, and what they judge to be right. The US isn't democratic, but being allowed to do what you like isn't democracy anyway.

The U.S. is considered a Republic, all nations do have laws and many are similar laws. Just enforced differently.

Laws are passed by vote , laws are put in place for the protection of the majority and that is democracy.
without laws you have chaos .
